My vivaro 2.0cdti

hello everyone,

I've decided to start a thread on my workhorse!
I originally got the van from a dealer, I think it's an ex telecom van, the usual white with black bumpers, twin sliders and hideous wheels and Center caps!

Ive done a few modifications to date, mainly the colour coding, sportive front bumper with fogs, remap from 90bhp to around 130-140bhp, genuine Vauxhall wheel trims (temporary) soon replacing with RR wheels, just having new washers made up as I don't trust variable wheel...

hi all,

new movano owner, its a '51 plate 2.8, only problem so far is tempature gauge doesn't work, I think the needle is broken, can you replace the clocks and if so is the mileage stored in the clocks or the ecu?

Boost Pressure issues

Hi all,
I have recently bought a 2006 1.9 CDTi Vivaro. The glow plug light was constantly illuminated on purchase and has been ever since. She doesn't seem to have the power she should; slow to build up speed. I cleaned the egr valve which made a slight difference but only minimal. The opcom says....

P0105 -
P1635 -
A glow plug general error & boost pressure sensor low input.
The glow plug one clears and returns on start up but the boost sensor fault is permanent and won't clear at all....

Recently my vivaro has developed a weird fault I will try and explain as best as possible.
1. When I turn my ignition key to first position there is a tapping noise that seem to come from behind the steering column which stops after a small while. 2. Ticking/clicking from drive belt area?

Hey,

Ive been getting this awful ticking noise coming from the drive belt, it began on idle then progressively became worse, its now noticeable at high revs doing 70mph.

I removed the wheel arch trim and noticed the tensioner was bouncing all over the place when the engine was running, replaced it yesterday along with the belt and the noise is still there.

I removed the belt and ran the engine again, purrs like a kitten, so it is definitely a belt issue. All the pulleys spun freely and...

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and after some advise please, I have a Vivaro M9r and having troubles with glow plugs not seeming to work. I have have new genuine glow plugs which cured it for a few weeks and have changed pre heater unit to, had a snap on computer on it and comes up with df025 pre heater diagnostic connection! I've been through fuse box which were all furred up an green, cleaned and lubed it all and still same. So come to the conclusion I have a broken wire just wondered if...

Whistling on acceleration

Hi all.

Hopefully someone can help me. I have a 2008 vivaro 2.0. Recently it started to make a whizzing/whistling sound as I accelerate. It gets louder as I accelerate and I am loosing power around 2000rpm. I'm guessing it's a turbo issue.....? It drives ok at low speeds and slow acceleration but power seems to disappear at higher speeds or if I accelerate to quickly. Evening all,

I'm still trying to decide which variant of the Vivaro to go for and running costs will be a consideration. But that doesn't always mean getting the smallest engine does it?! As solo rides will mostly be short I will occasionally be towing a caravan on longer runs, so the 2.5 may be better suited.

So, to help me decide and maybe help others in the future. Would you lovely members be willing to share some information to help please?

Gearbox Whine

Hello All

I have recently bought a 2012 Vivaro CDTi with around 60,000 miles. All has been going well for around another 8000 miles until today.

Coming home from work on the Motorway at around 60mph I heard a whine.

Nobody else can hear it, but I know it's there.

I have heard many horror stories regarding the gearboxes on these van so my first thoughts were ££££££'s.

I knocked the van out of gear and coasted and the noise stays the same. So my first thoughts are possibly diff bearings....

Common Oil Leaks? Belt side.

I've got a 2004 Movano, 2.5 CDTI (100ps version), I believe the engine code is G9U-754.

It's leaking oil on the cambelt side of the engine. Oil is hitting the bottom pulley, and then being thrown around the whole side of the engine, making finding the leak a bit difficult!

There is currently no aux belt on, so the oil is definitely hitting the bottom pulley, and not the pulleys for the ancillaries.

The bottom pulley doesn't seem to have any play.

Seems like a pretty bloody easy question to answer, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere else!

I want to remap my 2011 2.0 Vivaro because 1) it would be well worth doing with the mileage I do and 2) im getting a deal for two vehicles as im doing the Mondeo at the same time but I also want to blank off my egr to gain as much mpg as possible but obviously I understand that I would be better off blanking it off prior to the remap just in case it upsets the remap if I do it afterwards....

Can I blank a 2.0 CDTI Vivaro EGR?

Hi,
First of all, I'm new to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself. New to the van world. My other vehicle is a Triumph Tiger. I'm driving a 58 plate Vivaro 2.0 CDTI.

I was driving down the motorway with no issues when the red STOP light and the red engine light came on. The engine will now start and idle but these lights will come on immediately and under load (i.e. you try to drive, even to park it, it will cut out). There are no other warning lights.

I plugged in diagnostics but...

Central locking (Again!) - Scratching my head!!!!

Hi all,

Sorry it's another post about central locking on a Vivaro (2013), but it is good/weird one...

The issue I have is that when the ignition is on (or engine running), I can here the lock solenoids click from my doors every 30 seconds or so (faint click sound, like it's trying to unlock when they are already unlocked). The doors dont lock or anything, they just make a clicking sound (I can also hear a relay click coming from the BCM module/under the steering wheel).

Here's the weird...

Speedo doesn't work ? and can't set the time on the speedo

Hi everyone hopefully someone can help :) i have searched google and read alot of posts saying that the speed sensor on the gearbox is at fault, now i have had a good look around the the drive shafts but i can't seem to find it :( does anyone have a pic of where it is located ?

i have also got a problem with the time clock on the speedo i can't set it and the trip but wont work either when i press it in ? i did think that the speedo clocks may be at fault so i bought another one which did...

Smoking on start up

Wonder if anyone can help. have a 2010 vivaro which smokes badly on start up, but clears once driven, had it plugged in and come back with a misfire on one of the cylinders, changed the injector and have done a leak off test and all seems okay, but still smokes !! any ideas ?? thanks

Coolng System Problem...

Guys,

Looking for some advice again…

I had to get a couple of coolant hoses replaced the past couple of weeks following 2 separate leaks, the first was hose was some triple hose type that had split, the second hose was one near the fan, which had been rubbing against the fan, and when the fan had been coming on over a period of time it gradually wore away the hose, causing it to fail.

Anyway got the van back on Friday night, and haven’t any problems until today, when I noticed I was...
