Hi all , Thought i'd put up a sequence of pic's to show how you can strip down your P/S pumps. The reason for this is so that if your have a problem it may save you the cost of a recon (which are not cheap!!) not to mention a new one (Ouch!!)

Its a long sequence so soz for that but felt it the best way to show all parts etc. So here it is.

hi any one know the torque settings for head bolts for a 2011 Vivaro 2.0 diesel m9r engine

Getting conflicting info
Haynes manual says
Stage 1 5nm
Stage 2 30 nm
Stage 3 300 degrees (seems very highly in one go)

On google people are saying

Stage 1 25 nm
Stage 2 90 degrees
Stage 3 90 degrees
Stage 4 90 degrees

Thanks so much

No-one in their right mind would nick my van, but I'm picking-up a new m/cycle next week which might change that. It'll be well chained to the van floor but I've no idea how easy it is to nick Vivaros. Can anyone suggest something that's easy to use (so you use it) that would put off a scrote? Hidden battery isolator comes to mind but something big & yellow in the cab would be good so they don't bother trying. Those steering wheel locks for cars are popular so maybe something along those...

Exhaust leak around manifold. exhaust in cabin

View attachment 14641 Hi!
I have had an issue with my Vivaro for quite a while now. There is a puffing sound when the engine is under load. At a rate as it could be from one of the cylinders firing.
There is exhaust smell in the cabin and it's now time to do somrthing about it. I have removed the plastc parts to reveal a lot of soot under the air filter housing, and around the manifold. This seems like an awful tight place to work, and I am afraid i have to drop the engine to get to...

Aux belt around every 2yrs (Gates belt) (Known to snap and snap the cambelt)
Injectors Yearly removal and re-copper grease

My 2007 2.0 Vivaro had damaged cylinder head, I have bought a new (2nd hand) cylinder head, it came with the cam cover, camshafts, rocker arms and lifters but little else.
The cam shafts arrived out of the cam head and wrapped separately, along with the rocker arms and lifters also just wrapped separately. Haynes manual say these should be in a set order?
There are no marks on the cam sprockets to show they were marked up before they were dismantled, my problem is, how do you fit the...

Glow plug light and performance issue

Hi!

My Vivaro 2.5 CDTI 2004 is suffering some strange performance issues. Like many of you, my van has also this poor acceleration and strugle to maintain speed when driving under 2500rpm. Like there was no turbo at all. What makes this strange, is that the glow plug light comes on only, when driving 4th or 5th gear.

Things done so far:

-Cleaned EGR (was full of crap)
-Fuel filter
-Air filter
-Boost sensor
-Boost solenoid

There was also a hole in the air filter box, but is was before MAF...

Starting problems & indicator not cancelling

I bought an 54 plate Vivaro a few months back that had a bit of a starting problem, and still has. Sometimes it starts flawlessly, but most of the times I have to give it quite a number of seconds before it eventually fires. I sometimes feel that pumping the accelerator helps it, but could just be coincidence.
My 'old-school' mechanic has taken a good look at it, but is totally confused why it's doing it.

This could be a completely different problem, (or could be linked) but last week...
