Vivaro - what MPG do you get?

Evening all,

I'm still trying to decide which variant of the Vivaro to go for and running costs will be a consideration. But that doesn't always mean getting the smallest engine does it?! As solo rides will mostly be short I will occasionally be towing a caravan on longer runs, so the 2.5 may be better suited.

So, to help me decide and maybe help others in the future. Would you lovely members be willing to share some information to help please?

Gear cable adjustment procedure

Just want to ask if the Haynes method is right.

It says put it in 3rd and check the gap between gear lever and reverse gear blocker (3.3 - 4.3mm)

Then it says adjust by removing the cable with the yellow clip from the side gear selector and put a 4mm spacer between the gear lever and reverse gear blocker and then goes on to make sure the gear lever and selector linkage are STILL in neutral before refitting the cable end to the linkage selector

However it never said to move the gearstick...

what engine and tuning

hi

im new , i have a 65 plate vivaro, 1.6 its a beast but would like a little more power as im coming from a mapped 1.9 red CDTI vivaro,

ive read its a R9M 115 bhp, im looking for a tuning box, if anyone has any views on which is best that would be great, ive seen a few on ebay for £100 ish, i dont want max power etc just a bit of a kick

Hp diesel pump timing

Does anyone know if the high pressure diesel pump had to be timed on a 2.0 vivaro I know on the 1.9 they don't and nothing in Haynes manual that surgests it does thanks a lot

anyone got a cylinder head for a 1.9 traffic?
F9k or other variant?
i can't get anything local, so reaching out.
Any help much appreciated.
I know this isn't in the wanted section, but probably best asking here instead of there as more people will see it here with the connections.

Movano cabin fan works only on max blast

Bought a Movano 2.5 2007 model and the cabin fan did not work. change the resistor and still it did not work. ended up replacing the fan and now it only works on max speed. Any ideas?

ODB Plug....Where is it?

Hello to everybody, just purchased a new Vivaro 2900 Sportive (the new shape) I want to install a tracker to keep a eye on the van, I was going to install the type that plugs into the ODB plug so I can monitor the revs as well, does anybody know where the plug is as I cant seem to find it?
and has anybody got any experience of this type of tracking device?

Replacing rocker arms

need some advice had a broken timing chain and had 8 broken rockers have replaced them but still don't sound like any commpression there now before I take the head off I was wondering should I have bleed the hydrolic lifers when I replaced the rocker arms any help would be great don't
Want to waist my time
Taking head off if it's not the valves and been told valves should be OK as rockers on this engine is disigned to break before the valves

Annoying squeak

can any body help I'm new on here.
I have a 2007 2.0 cdti vivaro with an annoying sqeaking sound I think It's coming from the stretch bar that attaches to the sub frame is there any reason this should start making a noise?
Is there supposed to be any rubber bushing Inbetween? If not how can I stop the noise

Any help would be greatly appreciated

yesterday i bought a high top lwb movano (Which has been converted into a horsebox) 100bhp but it struggles up hills this is empty im looking for a remap to help with this (ideally 120bhp 300ish nm torque) not sure what the standard clutch can take? based in essex thanks

im not sure but ive bought a 58 plate movano, seems exactly the same as my renault, the right stalk on my renault if u touch the end "cycles" through mpg, how many miles in tank etc, but my new one doesnt? any ideas?

Smoking on start up

Wonder if anyone can help. have a 2010 vivaro which smokes badly on start up, but clears once driven, had it plugged in and come back with a misfire on one of the cylinders, changed the injector and have done a leak off test and all seems okay, but still smokes !! any ideas ?? thanks

bought a 2008 movano on sat its a 100bhp 2.5 version, going on motorway loses power/speed on hills dropped it down to 3rd (around 65/70mph) and didn't seem to be moving anywhere? It has been converted into a horsebox, is this normal?

Starting problems & indicator not cancelling

I bought an 54 plate Vivaro a few months back that had a bit of a starting problem, and still has. Sometimes it starts flawlessly, but most of the times I have to give it quite a number of seconds before it eventually fires. I sometimes feel that pumping the accelerator helps it, but could just be coincidence.
My 'old-school' mechanic has taken a good look at it, but is totally confused why it's doing it.

This could be a completely different problem, (or could be linked) but last week...

Smoke from rocker cover breather

In front of the heat shield there is a circular black "cap" I'm not sure what it is, under this there is a hose which looks like it should connect to the hose from the air filter, what is this hose and is there any reason why it would be disconnected from the hose from the air filter?
I reconnected these two (which were a bit oily) and now the engine seems to have a much deeper noise to it, I was initially looking at this as I had exhaust fumes in the engine...

Melted Fusebox/holder help

Hey guys,

This my first post here - so hi!

The fusebox/holder that is on the passenger-side of the dash, under the cup holder has become damaged. I think a fuse blew but a section of it has melted and will now not hold a couple of fuses properly.

This seems to be the cause of my passengerside lights not working properly nor my speedo illumination lights working either. The warning lights work but not the lights that light up the needle or the numbers making it difficult during night...

Mercedes Vito Rear Seat Installation

Hi,

Just recently purchased a 2014 Vivaro Sportive LWB crew cab. Great van loving it but I want to remove the bulkhead and rear seats then ply line and carpet out. I am interested in fitting Mercedes leather 3 seat with recline ect and the Merc fittings on the floor. Has anyone any experience or knowledge of any potential issues/problems with this proposal. Would appreciate any feedback. Lee
