1.9 vivaro not starting EML

Hello everyone,

I have a 1.9 vivaro 2001 diesel and have had it for a little over a month. It never started right away always took about 2+ seconds even with a new battery.
I removed the EGR valve to clean it few weeks back and a week after that i had drove to work (1-2mile away) and parked up. 5 minutes later i got back in the van to go somewhere and got as far as moving out of the car park space before it died.. At first i thought i had stalled it but it wouldn't start and then the Engine...

Air in the fuel line

Hi, back again :(

I've got air in my fuel line and my van keeps cutting out.

I disconnected the pipe near the engine and pumped all the air out and plugged it back in. It starts OK then cuts out again.

I did the same again (pumped the air out) then I got my mate to get under the van and see where the air was coming in. He said it looks like it's coming in somewhere near the tank.

I'm thinking about dropping the tank myself and changing the pipe if that's the problem?

Glow plug light and performance issue

Hi!

My Vivaro 2.5 CDTI 2004 is suffering some strange performance issues. Like many of you, my van has also this poor acceleration and strugle to maintain speed when driving under 2500rpm. Like there was no turbo at all. What makes this strange, is that the glow plug light comes on only, when driving 4th or 5th gear.

Things done so far:

-Cleaned EGR (was full of crap)
-Fuel filter
-Air filter
-Boost sensor
-Boost solenoid

There was also a hole in the air filter box, but is was before MAF...

Reverse camera wiring question

Just bought a reverse camera from ebay. This is the camera I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231558568622

I am fine on wiring the camera up to the reverse lights and routing the RCA cable to the front but it's wiring the monitor so that it's triggered when I select reverse that has me a bit puzzled.

Am I right in assuming that the two red wires on each end of the 6m yellow video signal lead transit the +12v reverse signal from the reverse light to the monitor screen? If it is it...

Renault Master 2007 150dci limp mode

Hi all, after a bit of help or advice if possible.

I've got a 2007 150dci Master - and I hope one of you might know what's causing my issue.......

I get a reoccurring fault, where the van goes into 'limp mode', and I lose all power. I can still drive the van, but performance is shocking. The coil and service light both come on.

It's been into a 'specialist' 4 times already (this is the 5th time in a year that it's happened), and they keep finding the fault of 'oil contamination' or...

Combo van clutch probs

I been getting a clutch pedal problem for a month now loses pressure and I have to pump pedal for a while to get pressure to build up then it's ok again for a few days but yesterday I had to pump for 30 mins to get pressure but got nothing this morning so I've tried to bleed system but no fluid coming from bleed nipple resivour is full there's no leaks any ideas ???

Vivaro turbo problem!!!

Hi can anyone help, on the way home my turbo has started to make a very very loud noise sounds like the heaters are on full blast in the cab when I put my foot down, sounds to me as if one of the pipes have come off. Could anyone tell me roughly where to look and what needs taking of to get to it?
Also it's a 2007 2.0 cdti m9r I believe

Hi,

I'm a newbie to the forum, so I wanted to say hi.

I'm hoping to pick up a 2003 1.9 Vivaro Sportive which has covered 70k from its single owner (from new). It seems very clean, but trying to trawl through all the Threads to try and find the main problems / faults on the vans is very time consuming.

I'm hoping to become a regular user of the forum (as I am on various other car / bike / electrical forums) to further my knowledge on the vans and to help others whilst converting / using...

Hi all, this is my first post and I am in need of some advice. I have a 2006 Renault traffic, 1.9 dci van and unfortunately I have run into some serious trouble. Basically I was driving around 20mph and the engine computer/glow plug light came on, about 10 seconds later I turned off the van and tried to restart it but it wouldn't. I tried turning the ignition quite a few times without realising this may be destroying my engine... I had AA come by to have a look and we noticed that the aux...

Hello Everyone!

Probably a long post, but I thought I'd put it on to try and help anyone else out who's having similar issues.

I bought a 2006 vivaro for my plumbing business. It drove like a car and being a trusting person, I took it as true when the seller told me he'd replaced the handbrake cable, front wheel bearings and given the van a full service.
After a weekend of owning the van, the handbrake cable snapped and when I looked underneath, I saw it had been botched up (two pieces...

Hi all, found this re this engine fault so thought i'd share as it may help some peeps out. And it also relates to my previous water leak fixes thread.

LED interior light bulbs (lamps)

Have you fitted LED bulbs (lamps) to the existing interior lights in the cab / back? If so, we're there any issues as I know on some makes & models (I.e. Seat Ibiza) this can cause a problem with the electrics of the car / van.

Coolng System Problem...

Guys,

Looking for some advice again…

I had to get a couple of coolant hoses replaced the past couple of weeks following 2 separate leaks, the first was hose was some triple hose type that had split, the second hose was one near the fan, which had been rubbing against the fan, and when the fan had been coming on over a period of time it gradually wore away the hose, causing it to fail.

Anyway got the van back on Friday night, and haven’t any problems until today, when I noticed I was...

Hi fellow members , i have just spotted on the tv listings that the BBC Watchdog consumer programme is doing a big number on the problems with injector ceasing and bad wiring in the Vivaro / traffic / primastar vans next week . This is a must watch programme for all owners of these vans .

Changed recirculation motor ready for scuttle fix

Doing the scuttle fix Sunday so this afternoon I changed my non-working air recirculation motor (£90 flippin quid). The old one was a mess thanks to sitting in water that leaks in via the scuttle onto the air intake box and gets into the insulation around it and pools at the bottom where the motor is

Can anyone help??! My vivaro 2.5 has been great, until 2 weeks ago whe it went in a garage after not starting. It turns over then cuts out,but if you hold the key turned in the ignition after a couple of seconds it spins over very quickly, holding my foot down it starts , the van drives ok, but the garage is struggling to find the fault, had auto electrician on it two days in a row at a loss don't know what to do??? Any help would be appreciated!!?

Very slow starter

hi,

Changed glow plugs, MAF and replaced earth strap from gear box to chassis. Still takes ages and ages of turning over and over, ignition off on etc before eventually starts. Fine after that. It won't even bump start?
Have service, glow plug and engine management lights on but it's not in limp mode, drives perfect.
Any ideas before I put it in a garage?
